Spin doctors

I'm watching a campaign guy for Hillary and a campaign guy for Barack "debate the issues" on Meet the Press. Barack's guy is scoring more points but both of them seem to start every answer with the something to the effect of "What he just said is untrue." Really, what's the point of having spin-doctors on at all?
